This digital photo painting features a reproduction of a vintage Japanese tin toy robot made during the Showa era (昭和時代).
The Showa era was a period of Japanese history associated with the reign of Emperor Hirohito, officially known as Emperor Showa, from 1926 to 1989. Japan produced and exported many tin toys during the early- to mid-Showa era.
The digital painting started with a single photograph of a single toy and a separate photograph of a circuit board. All of the duplicate toys, shadows, lighting effects, depth effects, perspective, and color alterations were done digitally.
